This past weekend the weather was pretty terrible, Cyclone Marcia hit Queensland and on the Gold Coast we dealt with her aftermath. So I had some time on Saturday to “catchup” on a few spreads. I had printed some of the photos previously but hadn’t had a chance to sit down and finish them off, so here are my most recent weeks.
Week 5 started with Australia Day and my first week as a teacher. Cards are from the Honey edition, sticker are Amy Tangerine and labels Studio Calico printables.
During week 6 I didn’t take many photos (these photos are all from Friday and Saturday). The “I heart today” card is from the Honey edition. This page also includes my February 101 in 1001 goals and Currently card.
For week 7s spread I used cards from the Journal Theme pack along with MAMBI stickers.
And that’s a wrap. Pretty close to being up to date so jusy need to keep swimming.
After my massive catch up at the end of my prac I have remained up to date and on track to finish off the year. I am also beginning to think about how I am going to document my life in 2015, which I will share soon.
Here is week 45. Cards from this week came from the Kaisercraft Favourite Things Collection. I loved the days of the week title card where I could document something from each day.
Here is week 46. I used cards from the Kiwi Edition along with some older Amy Tangerine stickers and 2 die cuts (the sentiments) from Kaisercraft.
For week 47 I had to adjust my usual page layout as I wanted to keep the order of the photos chronological and I also had a lot to write so needed to put my week title on a 3×4 card. Cards from this week are from the Blush Edition, with American Crafts white thickers and Studio Calico printable labels.
Wow, I hadn’t realised I was so behind in posting my PL spreads. With finishing up all of my assignments before heading to the Cook Islands and then starting my final prac the day after I can home I had to prioritise school work over PL for a few weeks. But I have caught up, I decided last minute to take Big Picture Classes Catch Up on Project Life Class which gave some ideas and motivation to catch up, plus prac is now over so I have more time.
As I was super busy in my “prac bubble” (as I liked to call it) I didn’t take as many photos as I wasn’t doing as much – it was the same thing most days, so I combined two weeks into one page. Week 40 is missing as that was while I was in the Cook Islands and my plan is to print a 12×12 photo to represent the week and do daily spreads of the trip in my Holiday Album. Here are my pages.
Week 36-37 – I used cards from the Kiwi Edition
Week 38-39 – These cards are from a recent purchase of Kaiser Craft Captured Memories cards. There are from the line Favourite Things. I got them from one of the Kaiser Craft Clearance Stores as seconds (the colours were slightly off) and they only cost me about $2 per pack. In the bottom left hand space (filled with the “This moment makes me smile” card space will be a 4×6 photo that I’m waiting for a friend to email me.
Week 41-42 – This weeks cards come from the Aqua Edition and the clear stickers are from MAMBI.
Week 43-44 – This weeks cards come from the Blush Edition.
Week 29 and Week 30 in my Project Life Album ended up being a combined spread, what I really love about this system is you have the flexibility to do whatever you want with the products, no pressure. These weeks I had limited photos that I wanted to include, I will add an insert most probably with my birthday cards. For this spread I used cards from the Honey Edition and used up some of my random alphabet stickers (both the white and orange are from Jillibean Soup). To decide what coloured cards I will use on a layout I print my photos first then see what are the dominant or complimentary colours I could use,
For Week 31, the overall colour scheme was bluey/green so I selected cards with those colours from the Blush Edition. I trimmed down a few of the journaling cards to make labels to stick onto the photos in the layout to keep the consistency of the page and stuck to some Dear Lizzy Glitter Thickers and Studio Calico Accent Stickers.
The final layout I completed this morning was for Week 32 and I used some Kraft cards from the Midnight Edition. As it was the first full week of August I included my Sn@p Calendar Card but trimmed the outer edge off (it was an olive green which didn’t match the layout) and mounted on a Kraft 3×4 card. I took the orange colour from the August title and used Amy Tan Remarks Baxter Letter stickers with Kaisercraft Diecuts and Studio Calico Printable Labels to finish off the layout. I completed this weeks layout whilst on hold to Centrelink (approx 30-40 mins) which included printing my photos after a quick selection and edit, selecting cards and embellishing. Not too complicated – my motto at the moment is to keep it simple and get it done.
I’m happy to say that I have been able to keep up with my Project Life album, only getting a week behind and then catching up on two weeks at a time. As much as I would like to have time each week to work on my spreads, at the moment it’s easier to find time to complete two spreads at once.
This weekend I have been working on weeks five and six, I’m fighting a cold/allergies so hiding out at home -resting, crafting and watching Game of Thrones. For week five, I ended up with four 4×6 photos and a business card I wanted to use. The three 3×4 cards are from the PL Honey Edition. The orange/brown/grey colour scheme is a new combo for me to use but worked for the photos I had this week.
